I succumbed. I did the washing up.

Now I'm going to cook sweet chilli chicken, er, stuff. In tortillas, with salad. Yay, something to do!

I've done all my washing for the week, it's now all hanging up to dry.

I am NOT washing up, because apart from the fact that I did it yesterday and it's not my turn...I can't be arsed because that's even MORE boring. Domestic tasks generally I have no interest in. Not that there's many left to do.

I can't go and play records because Nathan is, and seems to be having a good time so I won't interrupt him.

There's nothing exciting happening on the internet (hence me posting now).

I can't do any gardening because there's none to do, hooray new mulch.

I can't go out or see a movie or anything because we have no money.

There's nothing on TV.

Yup, that would be me.

I've been enjoying *gasp* real life in my spare time, and have been so busy at work that there hasn't been the time for sly internet skiving off, so LJ took a bit of a back seat. Combine that with being two weeks without a laptop because dear Husband dropped it and we had to wait for the insurance to come through, and you can almost explain why I haven't posted in more than two months. Almost.

So yeah, new laptop!  (We got the white one) It's verrr naarse. Hooray for insurance!

Teh Hawtness

In other news, I've started a project in the form of an LJ Community called "Eat More Obscura". You'd need to have read my brother jvandenberg's LJ to get the reference. I haven't actually asked him if he minds me starting this up, since the underlying concept was his, so hopefully he doesn't!  I decided that it would be a nifty way to put all of my recipes and other rantings in one spot, where he could also view them and make comments. With any luck we'll attract some more contributors and build a resource. Or it might die in the arse. :P

It's really that time of year again, isn't it? Only one more weekend between now and when I have to have all my shopping done, eek. I don't have time to do my massive Martha Stewart extravaganza again this year, so retail it is. What does everyone want for Christmas? I have no idea, and neither do they. Very frustrating.

Present woes aside, I'm looking forward to Christmas. We're getting both sides of the family together to do a buffet lunch - which is great, it means Nathan and I don't have to have lunch at one house and dinner at the other (with the travelling in between) or choose which family gets us on Christmas Day. This does mean we won't get my favourite sit-down hot roast turkey dinner with all the trimmings, but meh. There'll still be enough food to feed an army. That's another thing I have to do - Mum wants help deciding what food we'll put on. All I know so far is that I'll do potato salad, and a really sickly sweet raspberry and white chocolate tiramisu which I found in the Woolie's magazine. Looks amazing.

What else is going on? Ermmm....
Recovered from my very trashy birthday OK, since then not a great deal has happened.

Nathan's had a cold. I think I managed to escape after a day or so of feeling yuck, although the nasty sinus-inflammation headache I have at the moment tells me otherwise.

Really enjoying my music at the moment, bought another 19 tracks last night, ready for my next radio show. That's another thing I have to do this week/weekend. :/ Needs more hours in the day!!

What would be a good title for an internet radio show on a Saturday evening between 6.30 and 8.30?

Also, I can't decide if using a play on words with my name is a good idea, or somewhat try-hard.

Liv:[insert title here]?

Some of the other shows on mixsd.net have some, er, impressive names - "Needlesmashers Incorporated", "Subservice"... or are using the name of their actual club night or promotion company.

I need something memorable, like A State of Trance or Fire It Up or ...something!

I'm really drawing a blank.

I have finally caved to peer pressure and signed up a myspace page. It seems to be the thing for DJs these days.

And OMFG, it's a pain in the arse to use. I hate hate hate hate it.

After I already signed up one account - eventually, after I accidentally put the wrong year of birth in, then it continually telling me I was too young to have a myspace account *roll eyes* - and got Eddie Halliwell as a friend, w00t... I realised if I want to use it for DJ-ish stuff I really need a musician/artist account.

Rightio, I thought. I'll just see if I can upgrade it or change it.

Oh, OK, I'll have to sign up again.

Oh, I can't use my e-mail address twice. Sigh... OK, I'll cancel this account and start again.

Oh, when I go through several levels of "Are you SURE you want to cancel?!!!11" it has an "unexpected error" and doesn't cancel the account. Three times in a row. My account still remains un-canceled.

(about to throw something by now)

OK, so I'll send myself another gmail invitation and sign up a different e-mail address. Sign up an artist account. Right. Good.

I won't get into how annoying the customisation procedure is.

So. After all that, my (second) myspace address is www.myspace.com/livdj ("liv" by itself was taken, of course. I didn't really want the "dj" bit in there, but I couldn't think of anything else that wasn't kinda dorky.)

Agenda for this weekend is to pre-record my first radio show which will be broadcast on mixsd.net on the 9th of December. Very exciting!

....damn, I forgot.

1. It's missjacki's birthday celebrationish thing on Saturday. Beerfest followed by BBQ at jimmy255's house. I'm going to make a superduper potato salad (hang the calories!). I hope the weather forecast is wrong. Beer + outdoors + rain = lose.

2. It's our 2nd wedding anniversary in a fortnight. Gosh, how time flies when you're still very much in love. ("Awwww.....*puke*")

3. It's my birthday in 25 days (not that I'm counting) and I'm going to be playing at lala. I don't mind, in fact I'm pretty glad about it. I hadn't made any other plans, and hopefully it'll be a hugely packed night. I love it when I have a room full of punters going spastic. I'll have to do some hyping, perhaps if Jim isn't at an army weekend like he threatened, I could get his uber-marketeer hype generator skills onto it.
Maybe after that (post-4 a.m.) there will be afterparty trashiness at my house. We'll see! Depends on funds, as bloody always.
